Art Programs

Expanded Fundamentals

(Ages 10 – 12)

This program bridges the gap between Fine Art Fundamentals and Advanced Exploration, catering to students aged 10 to 12. It combines continued learning of fundamental techniques with opportunities for experimentation. Students explore various media and are encouraged to make more independent creative decisions. The small class size (7:1 student/teacher ratio) fosters a supportive environment where students can refine their skills and gain confidence. They enjoy the challenges and joys of creating ‘original’ works of art while developing observation and problem solving skills.

Students new to Expanded Fundamentals must complete a prerequisite Online Form Class via Zoom. During registration, you’ll be asked if this is your child’s first time enrolling in the Expanded Fundamentals class. If you select “Yes” before completing the registration, you will receive an email with details about the form class and how to register.

“I enjoy coming to The Marvegos because I learn new skills, and every time I’m here I learn something I haven’t learned before. The projects are more advanced, and I like that I can choose.”

– Rohan, 11

Annual Student Art Exhibit

An annual exhibition of original art by students is held as a culmination to a year of dedicated study in fine art.  Students who complete the school year’s curriculum by beginning in September and ending at the end of the school year qualify to participate in this annual exhibit.

This event is free and is open to the public.  Please feel free to bring your children to add to the floor art that is created on the day of the exhibit.
